WEEKEND RECAP: A birthday adventure to the Field Museum!!!

Good morning to you all! How’s it going so far today?

Ealier this month I finally took one of my nieces on her birthday adventure! Every year I give them a choice of a gift or an adventure and my 11yr old niece chose an adventure to the Field Museum of Natural History (https://www.fieldmuseum.org). The day started super bright and early as we had tickets for the 10am viewing of “WAKING THE T. REX 3D: THE STORY OF SUE” is was a well put together 3D documentary of the history of Sue the T-Rex! It was so interesting and the 3D action was amazing!

We had to leave the house around 8am and drove straight to Navy Pier for some breakfast and quick Uber ride later we were there just as the museum opened up at 9am! We walked through an exhibit and then made our way to our movie!

Afterwards we walked the whole museum exploring all the different exhibits. Fast forward a few hours we were tired and hungry!

Another quick Uber ride back to the pier for some lunch and some more walking taking in the sights. Moderate temps which was nice but unfortunately very dreary out for pictures but we still had a fantastic day!

We both had so much fun on her birthday adventure…can’t wait until the next one 🙂

What kind of museums are your favorite to visit?

Anyone else offer an adventure or a gift?

Gentlemen start your engines….

Morning everyone!  Hope ya’ll had a wonderful and safe 4th of July!  Little late on getting this up (seems to be the theme of this blog lol) but here it goes…

Wow what a crazy fun weekend!!  I got to spend the past weekend experiencing my very first live NASCAR race weekend at Chicagoland Speedway!!  Despite the heat indexes soaring into the 100’s we still managed to have an amazing time!!

Thursday the 28th Scott 150 was fast and fun with amazing views…

Friday the 29th Overton’s 225…another fun night and relaxed night…

Saturday the 30th long hot day for the Overton’s 300!!  Luckily we all managed to power through and enjoy another amazing race day…

Now Sunday the 1st I wasn’t fortunate enough to be able to go to but my good friends were lucky enough to attend all 4 days…Overton’s 400 the biggest and final race of the weekend…here are a few pictures they were fortunate enough to have captured…

We needed another day to recover from all that but no such luck….thank goodness we get a midweek break for the 4th of July holiday!

Anyone else experiencing this crazy heat days?

Any NASCAR fans out there?
